All hail & Welcome to Astro: February New Moon in Aquarius, Annular Solar Eclipse. We are witnessing the last of the Capricorn moon cycle & entering into the Aquarius Moon cycle with a blast of amplified Aquarian energy. How different these two energies are will reveal & dictate how we explore our way through this next Moon phasing in Aquarius. We can drift gently into Aquarius New Moon with our intentions for the next month & we can flow with whatever is illuminated. There is such a lot still going on still astrologically, globally & individually. Big change is in the Air with Aquarius’ energies. Each of us are different in our approach & understanding of the world around us, blossoming at different times just as in nature. We will be confronted by challenges or adjustments to the flow we have been meandering with. There are some huge energies & energy shifts on board this month’s Astro New Moon adventure. This is also an Annular Solar Eclipse, more commonly known as a Ring of fire, where the Sun isn’t completely covered but will be visible through the ring of fire around the transiting Moon. It is a powerful portal of amplification energies which can often repercuss through the next 6 months or so. It will highlight huge shifts in the Aquarius areas of life, developing over the next few months.

I would like to begin discussing the ingredients of our mixture before meandering into an astrological interpretation with planetary influences.

New Moon sets the scene for new intentions, planting seeds of hope which gestate alongside the moon’s cycle. We prepare the ground for seed planting, the setting of new intentions or ideas we wish to work with and bring to fruition. These seeds carry with them our hopes. A maiden’s Winter into Spring, generating new ideas & projects, new beginnings to our internal & external world. How we approach this area in our lives is unique for each of us. Contemplate the energy needed to mindfully begin our seeding. Think about that which we wish to call toward us during this process, those things we wish to see to fruition, to thrive & to harvest. This is the phase where we will generate our ideas and plan projects. We may feel the need to soul search in order to discover personal truths. Find alignment with the person we are becoming, carries a real sense of purpose for these personal goals & ambitions. Be assertive, be adventurous and be curious about your intentions.

Sometimes we stomp through life wanting, expecting, feeling entitled to that which we have perceived ought to be ours by some kind of divine right. Being mindful of our steps, treading carefully, meaningfully, lovingly with great intent to birth what we really want to see thriving in our lives, is being encouraged. Hold onto that notion in all its glory. This golden egg we hold is filled with our hopes, dreams & aspirations for the forthcoming months of our lives. Make it worth it. Make it something to be honoured. Make it THE thing that is ongoing in our combined unravelling. Make it something that will bring joy & happiness. Most of all, make it attainable. Work toward that end.

Too often we expect our dreams to manifest overnight, however we more often find that our intentions, like seeds take a while to find the light of day & begin to manifest our desires into our daily existence. Patience & love for the desires we are drawing toward us is a slow & magickal way of manifesting our newness into the mundane. For fruition to occur we may need to take an offer of help or advice. This deducts nothing from our efforts, rather it encourages a fuller understanding & reverence of ourselves on the journey to discovery & manifestation of that which we have planted in our soil. The key is to allow ourselves to ‘be’ in the moment. To give ourselves permission aside from all societal expectations, to be the person we are supposed to be. To walk & talk our authentic nature.

Aquarius is an Air sign of revolution and humanitarianism. There is a theme of thinking outside of the box and standing up to be counted. Progressive ideas, intellect and the want to be of service for the greater good are being encouraged. New beginnings, exciting plans, planning adventure, deep soul searching and discovering our truths are also relevant at the time of Aquarian energies. The Water bearer carries the water of knowledge & asking for wisdom is attained through this portal. So, as I have mentioned there may be something or someone with knowledge needed to make plans successful. It is now time to acknowledge & request this to aid our journeying, put out a hand of friendship, accept offered help. During this cycle, Aquarius energy will be encouraging us to be more sociable, to find new friendships, connections, social group endeavours, shared projects all with a heavy focus on new beginnings, as this is all within reach now. This is also a great time for brainstorming & problem solving, finding the balance, the people & to think outside the box. Focus on a brand new positive vision of the future. This will be away from the usual we are used to & something brand new or perhaps simply different from what we are used to. We are being encouraged to not fall prey to old habits & thought processes. This new outreach & objectivity is exactly what is needed for us to break away from our own destructive behaviours. It is entirely up to us alone to take those steps. I can tell you it will be well worth it!

Aquarius energies make way for our resurgence out of our inner journeying. Be gentle & aware. As we emerge from our inner caves, we may need to have patience with ourselves as we tread softly toward new beginnings. Think about the way in which we feel into the newness of notions. It is one thing to think on what we want to manifest, moreover we really need to understand what we want to feel in our movement toward that end. The work we put in is crucial & the way in which we wish to feel needs to balance our ambitions. We need to prepare ourselves to feel good about what we are doing also.

Ask:

How do I really wish to feel in my endeavours?

How do I want to feel every day?

What needs changing or getting rid of?

How can I become gently aware of what needs to change to enable the feeling of joy everyday?

How can I pro-actively achieve joy in my daily life?

Moon conjunct Sun gives us the balance between both luminaries. One of our jobs right now is to find that balance & tend to it, so that one does not outweigh the other. An imbalance will cause chaos in our lives if we let it. Sun is all about ego, the present & self image. The moon represents the inner us. Feelings, nurture, instinct, the past are all part of lunar governorship. The Sun represents our wants, the Moon our needs. To find the balance, we must ask ourselves what we want & need, in which manner we wish to forge forward & how we wish to feel whilst we are doing so. Balance ! With an Aquarius edge to it, how do we wish to begin & how do we wish to intuit that which we are preparing ourselves for this year, is a key question to ask of ourselves. Be brave, fearless & yet soft in an approach to get the most honest answer.

Planetary Influences

Annular solar eclipse – brings speed! Lots of motion & the unexpected. With Sun & Moon on the North Node axis, we can expect some foreshadowing of future events, especially financial. The world will seem harsh right now, but compassion is key. Truths are unveiled. The unexpected can happen now. We may feel we are walking into the unknown, but surrendering to this feeling benefits us to our advantage.

Moon & eclipse Square Uranus  – Uranus governs Aquarius so this aspect reinforces the Aquarius energies bringing awakenings, revolution & a knowledge of what we have outgrown & needs to stop. Revolution is in the air, literally everywhere & power comes from within each of us. Watch for Impulsivity, abruptness, self-destructive actions. Time to re-evaluate desires & goals, making sure they reflect our soul wishes/ path rather than going against what’s best for us, for fun or to lash out. Look into collaborating along the lines of what is coming into life now.

Sun & moon sesquiquadrante Jupiter – self care +++.  Signals a time for mindfulness & restructure or reaffirmation of the spiritual. There comes an awareness of all that is happening & this can trigger overwhelm. Be kind to yourself & use calming, self-care routines to bring yourself back to centre, settle the nervous system, meditate & breathe, take a step back & refocus. Love is the vibration we should be sending out, so self-care, acceptance & feeling the love for & from ourselves to ourselves is where it all begins. It is a very important vibration right now.

Later in the month…

20^th Feb is Equinox – Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse! Combined with Aquarian energy, we can expect a surge in our want to free ourselves from what is old & binding. Expect the unexpected! Expect things to move fast.

In addition...

...The big conjunction of the year Saturn & Neptune in Aries at 0°.

This may give us an unsure feeling around security. Clarity comes, revealing the flaws we once suspected. This happens to clear the space for the new that we have planned for ourselves.  This is preparation for us to rebuild a newer, more efficient sense of security. Fear of the unknown can hold us inert but surrendering to it will benefit us in the long term. This is Aries energy & that means focus & action. Be aware of deception & over-reaction!

Phew! There is a lot of energy in this present moment. I know many of us have already been feeling the shift. Some of us have been feeling exhausted & that is a lot to do with the body-mind- spirit preparing us for what is coming for the rest of this year & the future we have planned. Remember, as in nature, we all bloom at different times, have different jobs to fulfil & are in need of different energies to each other. A little compassion goes a long way. Remember the universe only gives us what it knows we are capable of holding.

I firmly believe that Love is the key vibration to hold & to put out into the world right now.
