ASTRO NEW MOON IN GEMINI

All Hail & Welcome to May’s Astro New Moon article. May begins with Beltane & the season of the flowering branch, which in some customs can symbolise the new beginnings of relationships. Beltane is often connected to the beginning of the wedding season here in the northern hemisphere. On an astro note, we have also had some real planetary movers & shakers this month & it is set to continue as we progress to June. As Astro articles go, I delve mainly into the moonphase & astrology surrounding the phase. Astrological prediction is a general term used to describe lunar & planetary movements & the effects that these have on us humans on planet Earth. It really is an ancient way to unveil the happenings on our planet on a personal & global capacity. Astro articles, as such are a generalisation of this prediction, which refer to us as a whole rather than an individual. That said, much of what you read may resonate with what is occurring in life today, some may not. That is the beauty of astrological prediction. To get a full analysis of personal prediction, one must be aware of ones own natal chart which reveals which planets were in play in which zodiac sign on the day & time of your birth. Welcome New Moon in Gemini, the sign of the mythos twins Castor & Pollux, twin stars in the night sky. I hope that you have navigated a clear way through any issues that may have arisen at the last lunation's of New & Full Moons. You have arrived at our next adventure through the cosmic energies on offer to us here on Mother Earth. Our celestial luminary is in the sign of Gemini which is represented by the twins, one mortal & the other immortal, symbolising both sides of ourselves, the physical body & ego & the spirit body of soul. Given the nature of the energies we have been in receipt of recently, it bodes well to keep this in mind & to work toward an equilibrium between them. Let’s begin our journey through New Moon in Gemini….

New Moon is a new cycle in which we prepare for planting seeds of intention of that which we wish to manifest into our realities. It is a time of fresh ideas, innovation & physical movement toward that end. Before acting, we need to consider our why’s & where fore’s of forming a new idea. In addition, this is a great time to take a look at our personal desires, which run tandem with Gemini’s more positive traits. Patience & planning are virtuous at this moment in time & the verve we have from our experiences must be given time for us to feel into. We need time to immerse ourselves into what has presented itself to us, before we run forward. As Gemini is governed by Mercury, communication skills are also on the cards for us. This embodies how we offer a listening ear to others without judgement or attempting to find solutions. It is about being present for others to safe & vulnerable in our presence.

Gemini is the sign of the twins, one mortal & the other immortal. It’s a good thing to know what this sign has to offer us as we traverse this New Moon. Gemini is ruled by Mercury the governor of communications, travel, learning & liberation, so we can expect these traits to be illuminated as we experience the next few weeks of Gemini season. Gemini’s positive traits make for engagement, curiosity, versatility, wit, entertainment, charm, socialising, generosity, motivation, intellect & adventurousness. However, the more negative side of Gemini can bring out the superficial, restless, nervous, highly strung, overwhelmed, childish & immature side of people affected. The most affected by this lunation are those with mutable signs such as Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius & Pisces. Think before acting or overreacting, listen to other’s opinions with grace & avoid conflict. Better still, be aware of any of these traits being acted out & know how to be in peace with it all. Gemini is asking us to recognise our own impatience, so that we can fully process our new processes.

We are at the very end of May moving into June which is the home of midsummer, so right now we are entering the brightest time of year, fully illuminated in our external world, surrounded by the abundance of Gaia herself. Go into nature, walk barefoot, enjoy the outside, feel gratitude for that which we have in our lives right now & that which is moving us forward. This will give us freshness & open our desire to be our fullest selves in our natural surroundings.

Gemini is a flexible Air sign, governed by Mercury of communications, change, liberation, rebellion & travel. Gemini is an engaging sign with a curious nature. This can be a moment of entertainment & creativity, generosity & charm. We may find our motivation right about now & it is a good idea to use this force for our wellbeing at the moment. We may want to fully express ourselves but may find we lack force to do so. Right now, it is ok to make self-care a priority. In fact, rest, reorient & reorganisation will really help us in preparing for that boost from inertia that we're craving so much. We need to tap into our new found revelations & transformations & feel fully comfortable with them before surging on. Allowing ourselves time to take our time is very important to developing a routine, which will fully benefit us on all levels & secure better developed decisions. Keeping the mind clutter free is a task in itself which may feel almost impossible. Focus on keeping the mind in check by recognising self-sabotage, negativity, repetitive thoughts & actions by practising being in the present moment. In addition, be on guard for anyone guiding us to do something we may not feel great about, so a bit of self-preservation is also key to finding our life balance. Gemini will present us with a gentle nudge & much more airy energy which is on offer to us. Remember both sides of us are begging to become more balanced & as such, able to work together harmoniously. The Gemini avatar of the twins (immortal & mortal) represent the duality of our existence. As humans we have taught ourselves to see things as good & acceptable or bad & unacceptable, for us & our experience. As spiritual beings we understand that our experiences form a visionary part of the bigger picture & our purpose. This is something to keep in mind as we traverse these next few weeks.

Furthermore, Gemini is the sign of the mind, communication & mental agility, so expect more of these qualities as the weeks unfold. We will have more opportunities available to us & have the motivation to go ahead & begin something new. We will have new ideas, projects, plans which will absorb our attention, keeping us busy. We will find time to socialise & be neighbourly, creating a sense of community for ourselves & others. This is a great time to hear other’s opinions without attempting to solve any problems. Sometimes it’s best to hear someone out & watch them come to the conclusion they need to be at, without interfering with bias or judgement. This is a time of expression & communication, flowing & engaging. We may find time to share our knowledge & new information. In addition, it’s a great time for speaking, learning, writing & sharing knowledge. There may also be the Gemini trait of boredom & speedily jumping from one thing to another, so as to keep momentum & engagement up. With all that said, now is a good time to take a look at how we communicate & socialise. Asking ourselves how much we actually listen & absorb, versus how we react & whether that includes being friendly or on the offensive or defensive. How we connect is of the utmost importance to how we move on. Be adventurous, step out of the zone & into the new of deeper understanding & open mindedness. There is much to be learned from conversing & finding illumination from gaining knowledge.

Planetary aspects to the New Moon

Ok so, as I have mentioned there are a lot of movements going on in the planetary influence energy field.

Moon conjunct Mercury in Gemini – This all fits really well! Mercury ruler of Gemini, sitting very comfortably in its own sign offers us mental stimulation through affective discussion & problem solving. This is a dynamic aspect offering us lots of potential for lunations to come. A sort of seasonal perpetuity which can be carried on through each of the next few lunations.

Moon Sextile Saturn – As Saturn has entered Aries, we have a new dialogue to consider in which we build structure to the foundations we have been laying. We are building boundaries sufficient enough to offset any hostility or unobtainable pace. Although change is happening, we can have the mindset to reach toward our own wants & wishes. This ability allows us to align or realign with our longer- term goals. Using our intelligence & charm we can invoke brand new discussions which are adaptable to any alterations which need to be enacted. This is the beginning of something new & exciting.

Moon Trine Pluto rx in Aquarius – similar long- term effects in motion as mentioned, which can ricochet through to the next lunations. This aspect favours a deep inner dive to transform wounds to personal lessons & power. Pluto is the planet which will help us with our innermost feelings around power, money & control. This may have us purging old wounds & finding new solutions from within. No point fighting, go with its cleansing flow, even if that brings destruction before the transformation.

Moon Quintile Mars in Leo – brings some dynamic, passionate energy with a strong desire for acknowledgment. Here we have leadership, creativity, charisma & that outpouring of confidence. The flip side offers the strategist who wants to win at every turn, which can sometimes become seemingly overconfident & aggressive.
