Astro Full Buck Supermoon in Capricorn

All Hail & welcome to July’s edition of Astro: Full Buck Supermoon in Capricorn.We are in for a hot potato this month as this will be one of the most super charged months we will experience this year! So its kinda ‘hold on to ya hats’ as we embark on our journeying though the cosmic tides, to navigate our way through the various qualities of Capricorn Super Moon & planetary aspects occurring at this given time. In addition, it is also a supermoon, so we will experience an amplification of what’s on offer, as the Moon is at its closes approach to the Earth AKA Perigee. Furthermore, We have Cancer Sun opposite Capricorn Moon to find our balancing requisites for dealing with a Moon aspected by Mercury , Jupiter & Saturn. There is also a real boost to the beginning of July with Neptune retrograde in Pisces giving us a huge influence over our dreams & intuition, Chiron the wounded healer retrogrades & with Pluto, encourages generational healing! In addition to the alignment of the Sun & Sirius making cosmic waves not long after Full Moon! Awareness of these aspects can help us to become a driving force of goodness within our own & others lives.
Can we become the beacon of light for others by being the best example of our most authentic selves? Will humility rule & give us the opportunity to show how honourable we can be? If, after the solar apex we can quieten ego, yes! Let’s cast off for another cosmic adventure….
Naming the Moons
As ever I’d like to introduce to you some of the wonderful names that we give our beautiful celestial being when she is at her full phase. The month of July once again recalls by name the many agricultural aspects of varying geological areas. In America, indigenous people named this July full moon the Hay Moon, Summer Moon, Thunder Moon, Buck Moon and Red Berries Moon.
In China this moon is known as the Hungry Ghost moon. Now, this isn’t something agricultural is it? Let me explain in a little more detail. In China the Hungry Ghost Festival lands on the full moon of the seventh month. It is said at this time that the gates of hell are open and hungry ghosts visit the land of the living. Many people do not venture out after dark and many stay away from water as it is believed that the ghosts of those who died by drowning are particularly bothersome and dangerous. The festival itself begins with a parade of lanterns which are taken to the waters edge and lit before being released. The lanterns are said to guide the souls of the dead and deities toward safety and food which has been laid out for them. In some areas the lantern has the emblem or name of the family etched onto it. It is thought that the further the boat lantern goes before burning out and sinking reflects the good fortune that will come to the family in the forthcoming year.
In India we are in the lunar month of Sharvana in which the celebrations of Narali Purnima and Rakhi Purnima (coconut day).
The Ogham tree months usually cross over during the month and this month is no exception. This month we are in the month of the Holly going into Hazel. A Holly (Tinne) moon is a feminine moon also known as the Moon of Polarity and Moon of Encirclement. This moon brings forth aspects of protection, Magick for animals and sex magick. Think adaptability, renewal, endurance, stillness, clarity, regeneration & protection & we have a Holly Moon. And so it is!
Astrology
Sun in Cancer - The Sun is all about self & ego, representing life force, consciousness, creativity, self identity, self expression & self integration. In Cancer we find ourselves to be cautious of self expression, highly emotional as this is a water sign we expect the ebb & flow. We may have been or experienced possessiveness, nurturing, tenacity & withdrawal. This is our outer ego, the one which is seen by the outside world.
Moon in Capricorn - The Moon is our eternal feminine linking spirit & matter, our inner thoughts, self talk & expression, our past & intuition, mostly our emotional side which is kept internally by us & nurtured. At Full Moon we are at a state of abundance & fullness which can create feelings of overwhelm or serenity. We feel into our emotions, instincts , receptiveness, mothering nature & subconsciousness. The Moon in Capricorn is emotionally controlled, however this moon will have exuberance at a higher level. It is a moon of self reliance & dependability. Moon in Capricorn urges the need to be in control of family & environment. Beware of authoritarianism & absolutes. This is also a perfect chance for ownership of our responsibilities & where we have not being showing up, what has not been working for us & taking ownership of situations we've been part of. We will gain courage & reward if we can acknowledge obstacles & overcome challenges at this time.
Full Moon is a time of fruition & culminating energies from that which was set in motion at New Moon. It is an emotional time & this will be amplified by perigee moon (Supermoon). So as Sun in watery Cancer comes into opposition to Moon in earthy Capricorn, we can expect the 2 signs bring about polarities which will become prevalent in finding the balance needed to manage ourselves during what is quite a heated time. Cancer Sun likes a private life, the crab lives in its shell, so home & family play a great part in this factor. It highlights nurture, need for home base, love, unconditional love, roots attachments & is ok with dependency. On the other hand, Capricorn Moon wants us in the public eye & highlights career, reputation, accountability, rewards & achievements, conditional love & sense of duty. It encourages taking our responsibilities, publicly & professionally seriously & finding the right direction for these to traverse. As Cancer represents roots, Capricorn will give us direction. Our job is to find our balance between both without omitting anything. Career & families are in the hotspot. If we ignore one or the other we risk disharmony & potential chaos in our lives. We are being asked to take responsibility for self-sabotage, confront that which has stopped working for us.

How can I flip this situation around to bring life closer to the way I want it to be?
Try not to be too hard on yourself, as we can only do so much. The Full Moon empowers us to face our challenges & get over or around obstacles, Capricorn wants us to aim as high as we’d like to climb or descend as deeply as we wish, along the way learning & growing from our weaknesses making them into our strengths, adding to our intelligence. From these actions, we solidify our knowledge becoming stronger & perceptive. Capricorn helps us with the discipline we need to keep on track!

What is it I fear & why?
What is standing between, preventing me from reaching my ambitions?
What & where needs my commitment to enable growth & advancement?
There is a ‘role up your sleeves & get to work’ kinda attitude with this Moon phase. Of course it can be on a personal or collective level that we experience these energies.
Planetary influences
At the beginning of July: Pluto squares Lunar Nodes encouraging us to break cycles. These can be generational cycles & fit well into Chiron retrograde.
Chiron the wounded healer stations retrograde encouraging taking back full power of generational wounds & healing them. We may feel the ancestral pull of creating a healing space for ourselves & who is to come after us. We may be part of a circle of intent which has created this space & it will become a real vortex of power over the next few weeks. We may feel this ancestral healing on a very deep level this month, so its something to watch out for during the whole of July.
Neptune in Pisces goes retrograde - anything connected to Neptune & Pisces will be intensified - dreams, deep connection, intuition. We are being asked to follow that which we long for / to do. Again this is another really strong energy for July, connecting with the energies I have already mentioned & we may experience this on a psychic level. Our deep connection to our personal magic will go cosmic if we harness this energy. So anything we are involved with that moves toward this connection & dreaming is going to be huge this month.
Full Moon Trine Jupiter in Taurus- Trine’s are considered helpful or working in harmony with. In this case could prove to be an aid in keeping us on the right track & not becoming distracted. By keeping a positive mindset, we can achieve just about anything. Remember Jupiter gives us hope of some goodness emerging from any difficulties we may face.
Full Moon opposite Mercury - an opposition means opposing forces - in this case there could be communication & understanding difficulties. It could mean we are faced with not so good news, but not to allow it to completely bowl us over.
Full Moon Sextile Saturn - Sextile usually brings harmony to the aspecting bodies involved, in this case Moon of emotion & intuition, Saturn of work & reward & Jupiter of expansion & luck. And that is exactly how they can help us during this full phase & into the next couple of weeks!
Not long after Full Moon the Sun aligns with the Star Sirius, seen by some as our spirit Sun. This alignment produces a powerful portal which is amplified by the energy of Full Supermoon. The high frequency of this portal will help us to raise our vibration & offer us the power, intuition & energetic force we need to move through whatever is coming to us. We are never given anything that we cannot handle & in this case the universe really has our backs, supporting us to honour our soul purpose. We can apply this huge force to whatever comes to us or even anything we are involved in already.
So, time to power up!
There is great energy here in July. There is great love & healing in all sorts of ways. It is there for us to become a part of that force of goodness & sweetness. July is juicy & bursting with cosmic energy!

July 3 - Full Moon, Supermoon.
Moon located opposite side of Earth to Sun, its face fully illuminated. Phase occurs at 11:40 UTC. 1st of 4 supermoons for 2023. The Moon will be near its closest approach/ perigee to Earth, looking slightly larger & brighter than usual.
July 17 - New Moon.
Moon located on same side of Earth as Sun, not visible in the night sky. Phase occurs at 18:33 UTC. Best time of month for observation of objects, galaxies , star clusters as no moonlight interferes.
July 28, 29 - Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower.
Delta Aquarids is an average shower producing up to 20 meteors per hour at peak. Produced by debris from comets Marsden & Kracht. Meteor shower runs annually from 12 July - 23 August ‘23, peaking night of 28 July - morning of 29 July. A nearly full moon will block most fainter meteors this year. Patience may pay off for you to be able to catch a few good ones. Best viewing from a dark location after midnight. Meteors radiating from constellation Aquarius, appearing anywhere in the sky.
