Astro: Full Crone Supermoon in Aquarius; Welcoming the Moon of the Wise

Astro: Full Crone Supermoon in Aquarius

11/-12/08/22 @ 2:35 UTC

All Hail & welcome to this months Astro: Full Moon article. All well meaning cosmic travellers & the curious are welcome in this space. Welcome aboard the intergalactic journeying portal I embark upon each Full & New lunar phase. Please make yourselves comfortable, park your broom, pick a toadstool or rock to be seated upon, set your curiosity to eyes & arms wide open to receive the goodness that this journey offers you all in perfect love & perfect trust. We have been experiencing the Sirius Portal of Lionsgate, where many of us have been receiving spiritual downloads & manifestations, realisations & the birthing of new concepts, adding to our previous knowledge, in addition to an en masse awakening energy which shifts our evolution on track to authenticity & acceptance of these new energies. It sounds rather ‘out there’ & to some extent it is! My personal experiences have been truly organic & very personal revelations. How about you?

This Full phase is overflowing with energy from this inner & intergalactic transitioning. In addition to what we already know about Full phase & all its abundance, we will take a look at what the aspecting planets have in store for us. Plenty of that weaving later. For now, let us embark on our journeying through naming of our beautiful celestial being throughout the globe. My blessings to you all & happy journeying…

Naming the Moons

Naming the full moon each month is an olde phenomenon indicating the changing seasons, agricultural and ecological events during the year. Given ecological variants these names differ dependant on geographical region. Indigenous American names for Augusts full moon range from Sturgeon Moon, Corn Moon, Green Corn Moon, Dog Days Moon and Lightening Moon. The Siouan tribes of Montana called this moon Black Cherries Moon and the Indigenous peoples of Northern Canada named this moon Swan Flight Moon. In China the August Moon is named Harvest Moon. In India, on 13th August we are in the month of Bhardrapad with the celebration of Bhardrapad Purnima. The Celtic Medieval British named this moon Dispute Moon, Lynx Moon and Grain Moon. Druidic names can vary, however we are in the Month of the Hazel, Coll, which covers 5th August - 1st September, after which we will enter the month of the Vine. The Hazel moon was called Coll to the Celts which meant ‘Life force inside of you’. Hazel moon is associated with the appearance of hazelnuts, in addition wisdom, knowledge, divination, dowsing & dream journeying. In addition, the Hazel moon is feminine by nature and often called the Moon of the wise or Crone Moon. The magical aspects enhanced by this moon include protection, fertility, manifestation & spirit contact. It is seen as a good month for creative’s. Hazel moon is associated with holy wells & springs which contain the Salmon of knowledge.

Astrology

We have reached our 3rd & final Supermoon of 2022! This Full Moon in Aquarius is one of the most powerful moons of the year! Get ready for manifestation station!!!

Full Moon is the pinnacle of all that was set in motion around New Moon, it also suggests we look back to what was happening whilst June’s Supermoon was in play. By now there should be sure signs that whatever underlying energies we were experiencing at June’s supermoon are coming back into focus or coming to some sort of ending. We may find we enter a phase of closure for these matters, where we may have to make those all important decisions. As full Moon’s go, Supermoon’s amplify the need to release that which is not serving our highest good. We will notice these aspects in our lives more at this time & we are more likely to act on release impulse toward something which has been prevalent or persistent in our lives over the time between these supermoons.

Sun in Leo is bold & individualistic. A fixed Fire sign of the regal lion who is ruled by the sun, so is really in its element right now. Abundant self expression & assertiveness may need to be reigned in a little, until a more logical expression has been found for ideas & personal will. We don’t wish to seem over zealous with our passion & arrogant with our confidence. Leo is the drama queen of the zodiac, so it is a good idea to think before we act out. This sign is mostly about the ‘me’ in us all & as such can be a little too over enthusiastic in leading, rather than being part of a joint venture in which the group takes the credit. We need to be mindful of where we step if we take on exciting group ventures.

Moon in Aquarius - August Full Moon is in the sign of the water bearer which is quite deceiving if taken at face value as this is actually a fixed Air sign. This is the sign of healing & transition. Aquarian energy is going to be strong at this full supermoon. We may be able to transform dense damaging energies into hope & love by being present & fully aware. This is a good time to realise our own uniqueness & intelligence, sharing them with others when apt. It is also a good time to honour our intuition & to act on it accordingly. We each have gifts which we enjoy & now is a great time to share them with others who may benefit from them. Furthermore, Aquarius is ruled by both Saturn & Uranus both of whom are strongly in play as the main theme of this year, more on that later. So in as much as Aquarian energies of humanitarianism, intuition, science & innovation are all possible, there are also the more rebellious, extremist aspects to this sign we need to consider. Try to avoid people who are damaging to us; impulsive & extreme behaviour will also not benefit us at this time. Aquarius is group oriented & Moon in Aquarius is ultra modern, experimental & friendly. As a sincere humanitarian Aquarius, we may find our emotions lead to helping others at this time.

Sun opposite moon - opposing forces are in play whenever we have a full moon. As the Sun in Leo sits opposite Moon in Aquarius, we may see these polarities play out in our lives. Our home & family lives are brought into the spotlight together with our close relationships. We may feel tension act out in how individualistic we can be compared to our community spirit. Our values may come into focus & we may have to address these issues to be able to move forward in a more positive manner. These issues will concentrate around how we feel, our attitude & circumstance. So, what is already prominent in our lives will come to the fore for examination such as home & work, need & want, individualism & community, independence & co-dependence. With all of the dominant Aquarian energies available to us, we will have a cornucopia of help, healing & being part of something which could heal us & others around us. As this is the last Supermoon in a trio & of the year, we may also find closure in being able to make a final decision or we may reach an intuitively guided point in our journey where we finally realise which direction we ought to be travelling in to get to where we need to be in life. For this we need to sit within our open heartspace & act from a place of love & compassion, giving this full moon permission to hold us in that space, so that we emanate grace, love & wisdom into our decisions & beam out the same such energy in everything we do.

Planetary influences

As mentioned, Saturn & Uranus are in play as they have been all year. However, there are other influences which coincide with these cosmic motions which we need to be aware of. Better to know than be oblivious.

Saturn is the Taskmaster of the zodiac, who will only test you when you need it. In this case we are looking at whether we are on the correct life path. If we are, Saturn will likely enhance our path or reward us in some way. However, if we are not we will find this a rather testing time, in which our manoeuvres & situation will become far more difficult. Saturn does this for us to see the bigger picture & where we may have taken a wrong turn which doesn’t serve our highest good. If we retrace our steps or begin to move in the right direction, we will find ourselves rewarded with ease & praise.

Uranus is the zodiac’s free spirit & planet of chaos. So we need to expect the unexpected & know that whatever is occurring will be through progressive change & probably non-conformity. This seems to clash with Saturn, however this aspect is the main angst of the year. How we do things, whether we are doing them for our own highest good or whether we conform to the status quo. Of course this isn’t felt merely on a personal level but also in a global capacity.

Full Moon conjunct Saturn. Saturn & the Full Moon are together in Aquarius. Saturn is extremely at home as one of Aquarius' governors. Innovation & the bigger picture are definitely on the cards as these two snuggle up to eachother. Expect hard facts & lessons unlearned to resurface before feeling satisfied that Saturn’s expectations have been fulfilled. Be aware of emotions becoming more serious & putting pressure on close relationships. In addition, we may find the odd challenge, but this may feel a lot heavier than it is in reality. Negative emotions will not serve here. Time to put that heartspace into motion with love & compassion. We may experience some restriction around family, in which some drama may arise, giving us a sense of rejection. Coming from heartspace we can use our emotional maturity & wisdom to openly discuss how we feel whilst also offering a nurturing space for these relationships. This approach will aid in a more amicable outcome for all concerned.

Full Moon Square Uranus is a hard aspect in which we will have to consider sudden changes are for our long term benefit. This may bring some worry & uncertainty, but with a mature approach we can prevail.

Saturn Square Uranus is the theme of this year & will play out as part of a huge planetary grand cross which includes Mars, the Lunar nodes & the luminaries. This coming together will encourage us to realign ourselves with our true path. This all seems extremely relevant given Saturn’s governorship over Aquarius’ qualities & decisions which now need to be made for us to move forward unencumbered.

Is this the amplified boost we need to get on with it? It might just be!

So we may feel a little heavy on the emotional side with what is presenting itself to us. If we tuck into our emotionally mature self we can defeat any uncertainty & drama with calming wisdom. If we can be in heartspace we will be able to deal with any unexpected change or disrupting family circumstances, with love, compassion & wisdom, bringing peace to the situation.

It seems that Love, compassion, wisdom & a calming attitude will weave a beautifully binding thread if we allow these concepts to surface whilst we are in the throws of what seems to be another emotional storm. Remember we are only given that which we can handle. Dig deep for inner strength & purpose & you will be rewarded with so much goodness & abundance.

We are all distinct in many ways. Our natal charts mostly differ from one to the other, so we will be affected by a variation of characteristics which belong solely to us as individuals. That said, please feel free to re-read the sections which resonate with you, as these call to you on a personal level.
