All Hail & Welcome my lovelies to our 2nd Full Moon in Aquarius Astro article. All well meaning cosmic travellers & the curious are welcome in this space. Welcome aboard the intergalactic journeying portal I embark upon each Full & New lunar phase. Please make yourselves comfortable, park your broom, pick a toadstool or rock to be seated upon, set your curiosity to eyes & arms wide open to receive the goodness that this journey offers you all in perfect love & perfect trust. The portal of Aquarian energies is closing & we will begin to feel a fluid shift into Piscean energies, but during this phase we will experience the dynamic overlap of both, which is set to be bursting with all kinds of exuberance. Are we ready to come aboard for another journeying, navigating the cosmos to our personal well-Be-ing? Clamber on & enjoy the voyage, with my gratitude for your presence.
A Blue Moon
This Month’s Full Moon is also a Blue Moon. But what does this mean?
There are usually only three full moons in each season. Full moons occur every 29 & a bit days. Sometimes a season will contain 4 full moons. The extra full moon of the season is known as a blue moon. Blue moons occur on average once every 2.7 years & are therefore considered rare. Hence the saying ‘once in a blue moon’.
Naming the Moons
Naming the full moon each month is an olde phenomenon indicating the changing seasons, agricultural and ecological events during the year. Given geographical variants these names differ dependant on geographical region. The native American names for Augusts full moon range from Sturgeon Moon, Corn Moon, Green Corn Moon, Dog Days Moon and Lightening Moon. The Siouan tribes of Montana called this moon Black Cherries Moon and the Inuit peoples of Northern Canada named this moon Swan Flight Moon. In China the August Moon is named Harvest Moon. In India, on 23rd August we are in the month of Bhardrapad with the celebration of Bhardrapad Purnima. The Celtic Medieval British named this moon Dispute Moon, Lynx Moon and Grain Moon. Druidic names can vary, however we are in the Month of the Hazel, Coll, which covers 5th August - 1st September, after which we will enter the month of the Vine. The Hazel moon was called Coll to the Celts which meant ‘Life force inside of you’. Hazel moon is associated with the appearance of hazelnuts, wisdom, knowledge, divination, dowsing & dream journeying. In addition, Hazel moon is feminine by nature and often called the Moon of the wise or Crone Moon. The magical aspects enhanced by this moon include protection, fertility, manifestation & spirit contact. It is seen as a good month for creative’s. Hazel moon is associated with holy wells & springs which contain the Salmon of knowledge.

Astrology
Full Moon is a time of fruition, abundance & the peak of energies placed into new moon intentions. It is the manifestation station of the lunar cycle, where we see the flowering of projects & ideas & flow with what has worked for us as well as learn from what didn’t work so well. This is a time when our rawness comes to the surface, a time of releasing that which is no longer of service. This phase can sometimes leave us weakened or on the other hand relieved. We may find that we are wide awake & open to flowing abundance, open to the universal YES! This is our peak time of emotions, intuition, psychic awareness & awareness in general. We can choose to work with this phase or not. Either way it will have some affect.
Moon in Aquarius, as we have already experienced from last Full Moon, is an innovative sign. This is the sign of humanitarianism, philosophy & progression. In addition, what we have probably been experiencing more of is rebelliousness, vision & social consciousness. The Big picture! Including all of us & also encouraging the self. There is a lot of intellect & optimism with Aquarius. However, all signs have a downside & its always good to now what to look out for. Gullibility, extremism, detachment, unpredictability & temperance. I admit to have experienced seeing the latter over the past few weeks & it has shocked me to be honest! Globally speaking there has been a lot of activity which pertains to the latter. There is happiness & good fortune here too as the Moon & Jupiter are conjunct, creating an harmonious aspect, which I will discuss further.
Sun in Leo. Leo is a ME sign & is usually all about the self. Known as the Zodiac’s drama queen, I’m sure there have been a lot of outbursts or attempted out doing’s from many who feel the need to compete or be at the top of their game. Leo is self expressive, courageous, loyal & protective too. There is much which needs attending to & as we are in the stages of change & transition in this society, Leo has been quite a positive personal influence for this month. On a global level, some of the worst aspects of Leo have been shown to be prevalent in societal change or norms. Arrogance, sloppiness, wastefulness, aggression, drama & pride.
Sun opposite Moon brings into focus & opposition some of our more mundane qualities. Home versus work, want versus need. Opposing energies which can quickly get out of hand & create friction & possible conflict. With Lunar qualities peaking, we will feel more emotional & intuitive. We can put all of this to use in arising situations by attuning to or subconsciousness, becoming aware & viewing from a balanced perspective. This allows us to see the energies which are out of kilter & in need of our attention. As I said, there is much work to be done! This work begins within. As we are approaching our inner working season, its a good idea to have a final clear out of stagnant energies before we delve deeper into our own psyche. Full Moon is a time for logic, instinct & practicality. Furthermore, the Moon is on the cusp of Pisces, so we may be experiencing a gentle flow of intuition & creativity which has been begging to be released into our sphere. Welcome it, embrace all of its goodness & graceful movement. This is medicine on a soul level.

Planetary influences on Full Moon Aquarius.
Full Moon conjunct (in the same sign & harmoniously working together) Jupiter. Jupiter is the Planet of Luck & is the good luck charm of the zodiac. This indicates blessings via an offering of happiness, success, optimism, generosity & luck! There may be opportunities which arise in our personal sphere for personal, spiritual & material movement & expansion, because that is what Jupiter does! Everything that Jupiter touches expands. We may feel confidence & self belief rising or we may feel that whatever we are focusing on expands. Remember, where focus goes, energy flows. So, advice is to focus your energies on where you wish to see expansion in life.
Venus trine (3 signs away 120°,1/3 circle, favourable aspect) Saturn. Venus is all about the love & money, Saturn is the planet of karma, the taskmaster of the zodiac. This offering indicates commitment, finding true love & soul mate synthesis. For existing relationships this can bring you closer & make you feel more steady. It also creates space for resolving long-term problems.
Mars trine Uranus. Another favourable aspect. Mars the planet of sex amongst other qualities, Uranus gives us unexpected surprises , change & progress. We may feel excited, adventurous, amorous, free & willing to take up something new. There will be strong instinctual behaviour surrounding relationships & sex. This intrepid attitude makes it a good time for risks. So we may experience passion, strong desire & a smattering of lowering inhibitions. Ladies in circle, now is a good time to dance naked under the moon!

September 7 - New Moon.
Phase occurs at 00:52 UTC. Best time of the month to observe faint objects, galaxies & star clusters as no moonlight will interfere.
September 14 - Neptune at Opposition.
Blue giant planet at its closest approach to Earth, its face fully illuminated by the Sun, brighter than any other time of the year & visible all night long. This is the best time to view and photograph Neptune. Its distance from Earth, dictates it will only appear as a tiny blue dot using the most powerful telescopes.
September 14 - Mercury at Greatest Eastern Elongation.
Mercury reaches 26.8 degrees from the Sun. Best time to view Mercury, at its highest point above the horizon in the evening sky. Look for the planet low in the western sky just after sunset.
September 20 - Full Moon.
