ASTRO: FULL MOON IN MINDFUL GEMINI

Astro Full Moon in GEMINI

27/11/23 @ 9:16 GMT

All Hail & Welcome to November’s Astro article. I would like to begin by explaining that anything I write as an astrology interpreter is for general use & not meant as a precursor or support to global events. That said, we are in dire times & I do not wish offence to anyone person reading my articles. The articles I write are directed toward the understanding & personal development of those who are interested in the magick our cosmos has to offer us. Our daily lives & how we conduct ourselves are personal to every individual. It is my belief that our beautiful planet Earth, celestial satellite, the planets & asteroids of our solar system all play a part influencing our life events, emotions & actions. What follows will be in the style I have honed & practised for some years. Firstly, we discuss the international phenomenon of naming the moon, followed by a few websites which will guide you on dates for non bias observances & celebrations for the coming month. We move on to Astrology for the next few weeks leading to New Moon, followed by the Astronomy events for the coming month ahead. I conclude with well meaning wishes for you over the next few weeks. Finally, a list of credits of all sources I have used for reference material. So, without further ado……

Naming The Moons

The moon has entranced humankind since time immemorial. The appearance of the moon through the phases has intrigued many civilizations across the globe. Many peoples have used the moon phases as a guide on how & when to seed, rest & harvest plants, which have been mainly used in agriculture. Each geographical area has differing climates, therefore naming the full phase moon is often onomastic to crops which are in flower or ready to harvest. With this in mind we discover the differences. The Native American names for the November moon are frosty Moon, Beaver Moon, Dark Moon, Tree Moon & Snow Moon, much like the Montana tribes who named it the Frost Moon. In addition, the North Canadian Inuit peoples named this moon the Freezing Mist Moon, brrrr!. All of these names are tangible given this time of year is often a time of the first frosts we see. The Chinese people call this the White Moon. In India the calendar is solar/ lunar therefore we are in the month of Agrahayana in which dead ancestors are honoured. The Ogham month is Elder 24/11 - 23/12. Elder is seen as a time of endings & much like the Elder tree which can regenerate itself from being devastated, it is also a symbol of renewal. Working with creativity, renewal, this is a time of recognising the cyclical nature of us, birth, death & renewal. The British medieval Celtic names for the November moon are Mourning Moon & Darkest Depths Moon. They indicate that we are in the month in which deep transformations begin to take place, in which we delve deep into soul work & face our shadow selves. Working together to tend to ourselves & allowing ourselves to feel out old hurts, states of mind, habits & emotions in an attempt to release & make space for that which is to come.

Astrology

Ok, there is a lot going on for us all at this time of year & it is so out of synch with what is occurring in nature. There is also a lot going on in Astrology & the cosmos too, so its going to come down to our personal values, ethics & self awareness, as to how much of the coming festive season we absorb. Being a little more self aware, knowing when it is down time, ‘Me’ time, is very important to avoid burnout. Be careful which functions you choose to go to & be aware of how draining this can be on your body & mind. In addition, you will experience many people who do not like this season for many reasons, please be kind, as you really don’t know why that person may dislike this time of year or find it so difficult. With that said, lets crack on with this full moons energies & aspects.

Full Moon is a time of abundance, in which our seeds of intent will show signs of growth & movement toward our goals. These can be intentions planted at any time of the year(s) or may connect to that which we planted at the last New Moon. This is also a time of releasing that which no longer serves a purpose. That which we can leave behind & learn lessons from will be highlighted. There may be a feeling of fresh ideas pushing to be aired. We are being reminded that our ideas must first be thought out, so take time to make sense & understand anything that comes to you or is calling to you.

The full moon represents our inner personality, our feelings, thoughts, unconsciousness, instincts. It can also illuminate past feelings, experiences, traumas & bring them to the surface at certain times to be worked through & released. The moon is where we feel deeply. This Full moon is in Gemini, so relationships, communication, money & the mind are involved. We can become more aware of the meaning behind what we say & do, at this time. We may find it easier to express our feelings in a genuine capacity, to air things which have been bugging us. However, be mindful that this is Full Moon, so emotions will be high & what we say or hear could be misconstrued. A sudden flow of interactions may occur. We may be in receipt of some good or bad information through the grapevine.

Gemini is an air sign, so inspiration, ideas come to us but our monkey mind is on full alert. It is time to balance our way of thinking rather than allowing monkey mind to play games with over-thinking & exaggerating things which may not need these actions to bring them into the spotlight. Pay attention to emotional outbursts. Drama’s can be a necessity, but try not to react, rather think before we communicate. It is a good time to verse aloud some of our more thought out ideas.

Full moon phase will be with a Sagittarian Sun shining on to our ego and external selves. Sagittarius is a fire sign & will be adding friendly, open minded philosophical qualities to our month. This sag’ Sun sits opposite the Moon in Gemini. Gemini is the sign of the mind, an air sign of communication. Gemini is of the lower mind & Sagittarius of the higher mind. So this moon phase looks a lot like there will be a revelation in communication. As the Full Gemini moon asks us, to think logically, Sagittarius Sun is requesting for us to use this thinking in a much wider scope, for the fuller picture to take form.

In addition, Gemini is a socialite, so we may see our calendar fill up with social events. Just remember to be guided by body intuition. Avoid burnout or emotionally frustrating events or people. As Gemini rules travel, we could find ourselves on the move or being affected by travel.

Furthermore, November is a time of honouring the dark goddesses, the divine feminine within all of us, as we retreat into our personal caves to work with our shadow selves, our guilts, sadness, old hurts, prophetic dreams, what has not worked so well this year, in order for us to reveal our true selves & work with our darker natures. We will be dealing with healing, cyclical resonance, recognition of repeated actions, outdated patterns which no longer serve but which we hold on to. We will be regenerating so that we may emerge victorious over our fears & hiccups. This is our time to be creative & delve, finding our personal inner strength & passions so that when the time is right we may burst forth into a new space, that which we have created through this work. Know that we can rise above anything that is placed before us. Whatever emerges from this lunation know that we can seek & find balance & understanding. We must allow any emotions which emerge, liberate ourselves & be free from what binds us, our old patterns, ways of thinking, hurts. Let them out , honour them by allowing them space. Allowing ourselves to feel, really feel from our deepest depths. Self care plays a huge role in allowing ourselves to be. This is what is being asked of us. To find our BE-ingness, aside from being human which we do every day, we also need time to be, present, individual, alone, in a group virtually or whatever we can achieve. We go to nature to nurture & this is sound advice right now. Get out into nature. I know for some of us that means getting cold & wet, but so what! Feeling is what makes us human, allowing ourselves is part of our BE-ingness.

Planetary Influences

Full Moon opposite Mars in Sagittarius - agitated & impetuous Mars can get angry making for difficult communications. We may be partial to primal reactions. Being aware of our emotions is key to avoiding damaging miscommunication.

Full Moon square Saturn in Pisces - A real wish to get to the crux of a situation & need to know fully how something is working out. Grounding & centring are key to dealing with life’s obstacles & there will be some. We ought to put off making any rash decisions. Whatever is highlighted will need our attention now & will be aimed at  really getting to know our truest desires for the future.

Astronomy
