As with all of the Full Moon articles, this article covers all of the above. You are most welcome to join me on this adventure of discovery, learning what our cosmos has on offer to us at this time.

We have a Scorpio Moon, which likes us to take a deep dive into transformative energies within & with-out. This Moon sits along the Taurus - Scorpio axis in which we will be confronted with resistance to forces including me,mine vs you, yours; form vs metamorphoses; all that is material vs the destruction of that which is palpable. We are being encouraged to find balance between these two opposing forces which will rear into our lives for our attention, through uncovering issues within our lives which already exist & are in much need of our attention. We are also being given a vision of the intricacies & Spiritual processes which we can utilise to find the balance between these two energies, to bring us the security we so desire.

Naming of the moons

The naming of the moons monthly cycle into full phase has been an international phenomenon since time immemorial. You may recognise that from some of the names the main agricultural, ecological, seasonal events are recorded as a symbolic marker for that particular time of the year. This April full moon is the first full moon in the spring & is commonly known as the pink moon. This does not mean that when the moon rises it is pink. Ancient American Indians named it such due to the pink moss & wild pink Phlox flower growing & flowering at this time of year. The native American names for the April full moon are Egg Moon, Seed Moon, frog Moon, Pink Moon & Awakening Moon. The Montana tribes named this moon the Frog Moon. Canadian Inuit name for this moon is Snow Melt Moon.

The Chinese name for this months moon is the Peony Moon. Ahh the Peony, what a very special flower! Peonies adorn many ancient Chinese paintings & vases. It is the unofficial flower of China, the other being the Cherry blossom. The Peony has been cultivated in China for thousands of years. It is so important & popular in China, that a Peony festival is held between mid April - Mid May every year. At this time the Peony begins to come into bloom. The festival in Louyang produces some of the world’s best Peonies. Luoyang was the capital of nine dynasties, beginning around 770BCE, is known as ‘The City of Peonies’. the Peony is known as the ‘King of Flowers’ & is a symbol of Royalty, high status & virtue. It is also called the ‘flower of wealth & honour’. Peonies were revered due to their medicinal values. The root & bark were used to cool the blood & help with infections.

The Indian Panchang is in the month of Chaitra, but will enter the month of Vaisakha on 24th April, in which the celebrations of Buddha Purnima & Vaisakha Purnima are observed.

The Druidic path meandered into the month of WIllow on 15th April and will remain so until 12th May. In Druidic tradition, this month known as Saille, names the full moon, the full Witches moon or the moon of balance. It brings forth aspects of romantic love, healing, protection , fertility & women’s mysteries. So this is a good time to carry out spells or rituals for the aforementioned. The Willow is associated with healing & growth. This is a tree which loves water & rainfall , as such has been associated with protection from natural disasters such as flooding. Planting or having an existing Willow is said to ward against such disaster. Furthermore, Willow trees are associated with Witches & the goddess. Many goddesses have been named as deities for the Willow; Persephone, Hecate, Cerridwen, Artemis, Selene, Luna, Diana & Brigit; are some of the Goddesses associated with this tree. Astrology

Our sun is in Taurus. Taurus is an Earth sign which encompasses grounding, patience, generosity, devotion & sensuality. This sign is a real powerhouse keeping a steady hoof heartbeat of calm practicality, which helps to get done the job done. This energy will help us with those areas or situations which illuminate during this time.

Our Moon is in Scorpio. Scorpio is a deeply transformative sign, governed by the element of Water, as is the Moon. It has the ability to make us directly face fears. Scorpio encourages us to see it through, to dive into it, exploring what is revealing itself to us. It is intense & penetrating. Whatever comes to the surface will be deep & intuitive, educative & transformative. Scorpio governs the very parts of ourselves we hide or forget about. Scorpio Full moon is all about uncovering issues which already exist within us. Whatever comes may be uncomfortable & there is a great wisdom in learning to be emotionally present in the moment however uncomfortable that may be. It is important to dive deep into what is being revealed. We are being asked to feel intuitively into this moon & all it has to offer. The Scorpio Moon is a perfect time to energetically release that which is no longer serving our life purpose & divine calling. This Moon will concentrate around areas of an energetic or psychic nature. It is a good time to energy cleanse with salt bath, crystals, burning incense herbs, reiki, sound baths & drumming are all a good call around the next two weeks. Scorpio also governs other people’s money, so possible financial beginnings or endings which could impact us.

Scorpio also represents transformation, so up-cycling something old into something with new purpose…I’ll leave that one for you!

Balance between a variety of places in life may be highlighted during this time. We may find conflict with Home vs work; need vs want; mine vs yours; form vs transformation. Personal values, material goods, possessions, collecting & security (Taurus) vs destruction of form, shared possessions, sharing, change & transformation (Scorpio); So if something of this ilk comes into sharp focus, dive into it & explore what message hides within, to find the balance needed for equilibrium. Know that we as individuals have the capacity to find the balance we need with these 2 amazingly strong forces, we have the ability to make the changes needed to create the life in which we will thrive, no matter the circumstance we are in now or are faced with. We have bravery & fearlessness built in, remember this! When we surface from this deep dive, we will be refreshed & empowered.

There is an intensity & darkness to this moon in Scorpio, a deeply transformative energy focused on change & sharing our complete candor . This is an area where some folk find difficulty in the truth of the matter, however if we employ a mindfulness approach to our openness, remaining alert to other's reactions, we can create stronger connections, build on pre-existing bonds & will be able to ascertain whether the effort we put into our connections is worth it or not. Thus we can release that which is no longer working in the correct manner for us. Within this darker side of the Scorpio moon we also have the opportunity to uncover power dynamics, underhanded manipulation & jealousy where it occurs in our associations. Armed with this knowledge we can either raise the energy or release it. In addition, we may encounter areas where conflicts have arisen or been left to fester, which may now rear up again for attention or resolution. Although we may find it difficult to look from different perspectives as this a time of internal investigation & self care, it is a good idea to at least attempt to do so. Finger pointing & the blame game are rife at this moment & it is important to have covered every angle. Remember We are brave & can stand up for ourselves where & when needed.

There is a lot of scope for personal growth & connection during this phase of Scorpio moon. Remember that Scorpio represents our cycle of death & rebirth, so this can be an excellent time for deep diving into our own evolution, cutting bonds & ending something that is no longer serving a healthy purpose in life. When all is done for the day we will be in a place of self preservation , grounding & emotional maturity. A fresh new us, a fresh new view & a fresh start to boot!

Planetary influences on Scorpio moon

Luminaries square Pluto in Aquarius - its all about transformation!

A Square indicates tension between the involved planets. This is necessary to create action, however too much tension can cause stress. These planets are at cross purpose & can cause us to experience stumbling blocks until we find the right way. A square energises us to move & not stagnate, to learn & grow from lessons & move onward.

Pluto Square the Sun & Moon is a recipe for change & deep transformation seen internally & externally.

Pluto in Aquarius highlights areas in need of change.

We may find ourselves having a real spring clean out in many areas of our lives ; friendships (singular & circles);personal happiness, being our quirky sovereign selves; community & humanitarianism; progression of scientific inventions; social structures & systems.

With Pluto in Aquarius, social structures & politics become highlighted areas we seek vital improvements in. This is a long-term cycle where we will be challenging power & control. The areas covered are likely connected to our individuality & equality, individual friendships & friendship circles. Dramas in friendships & networks are also likely. Our social lives may be the place where we feel more at a loss in terms of how situations play out for us, making this a time of second guessing our connections. Rearing its head in this sphere will be jealousy, manipulation & power dynamics. However, if we are in a place of least resistance when it comes to Pluto, we can be in a place of changing our perceptions , doing things differently & this may be an encouraging aspect which plays out for us in the long run.

Progression & science are high on the to do list in terms of how we move forward globally & personally, In addition to humanitarianism. On a more personal note our uniqueness or in my words quirkiness, to some our perfect imperfectness, acceptance & our ethics will all play part in the Pluto procession of change for betterment. step forwrd & be dynamically you!

If you can relate to any difficulties or obstacles occurring in these areas, you can be certain that Pluto’s transit of Aquarius is in full flow & we will need to go with what change is happening , rather than resist.
