3/3/26 @11:37

All Hail & Welcome to Full Worm Moon total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo. Hello Beautiful souls, welcome back for another Astro: Full Moon article. Our beautiful celestial satellite will be going into full phase at 11:37 GMT on March 3rd 2026. Can you feel the pull of the moon? Are you experiencing unexplainable instances and synchronicities at this time of the month? You are not alone! The moon has an influence on many of us today which can seem a little unexplainable or mysterious. She has always had an effect on our beloved mother Earth and all sentient beings feel the gravitational energies from both, even if you didn’t know it, you are a child of the universe, made from stardust and galactic energies. These energies interlink with all that surrounds us and we are influenced by the universal flow of energies and the movements of planets and constellations. Some might call this the Force!

Naming the Moons

Ancient people all over the world have named this phase of our moon. Many names are a reflection of what is happening agriculturally or from a hunter gatherer perspective as well as from the forces of nature that preside over us everyday.

The Native American’s named the March full moon as, Sap Moon, Worm Moon, Moon of Winds, Fish Moon Chaste Moon or Death Moon.

Montana tribes called this moon Sore Eye Moon.

The Inuit peoples of Northern Canada named this moon Snow Bird Moon.

The Chinese people’s know this moon as Sleeping Moon.

Celtic Medieval British names for the March full moon are Plough Moon, Wind Moon, Linten (lengthening) Moon.

The Ogham tree month carries across the month so we are now in the month of Ash (Feb 18th - March 17th), when we will enter the month of Alder (March 18th - April 14th). The cosmic tree, Yggdrasil was the Ash. The Ash links the world of men & realms of spirit & myth, a conveyed understanding of the interconnection of all things. Two springs flow from its roots, sources of Wisdom & Fate. Ash teaches that all life is interconnected on all levels of existence - past, present, future, spiritual, mental, physical: As above so below, as without so within, as the universe so the soul.  Alder covers the time of Spring Equinox and produces roots into the water of riverbanks, thus holding sacred space between the worlds of heaven and earth. It is sacred to Bran who laid himself down, as a bridge, for his men, to cross the sea.

The Hindu calendar is solar-lunar in nature and this month of Phalgun marks the celebrations of Holi Purnima and Phalgun Purnima. Holi is the festival of colours, celebrating fertility and good harvest. Furthermore, there are many stories surrounding the origins of this vibrant festival. Legend has it that King Hairanyakashyap demanded that the people of his kingdom worship him. However, his son, Prahlad was a devotee of Lord Vishhnu, and as such offended his father by his behaviour. The king attempted on 7 occasions to have his son killed. His failed attempts prompted him to call for his sister Holika, who was immune to fire, to sit with Prahlad in a bonfire in order to burn him. Ironically Holika was burned and Prahlad walked out of the fire unscathed by the event. Therefore, Holi is seen as a victory of good over evil. In addition, Holi is also associated with the playfulness of Radha- Krishna. Legend tells us that Krishna shot an arrow of love at Kaamdeva, to bring him out of eternal meditation. Kaamdeva was turned to ashes. This festival celebrates the sacrifice made by Kaamdeva. Holi is also pledge day, where one accepts one’s own shortcomings and weaknesses, take stock of mistakes and pledge not to repeat them. Holi is about ridding the self and life of negativity. Detoxification is the theme that runs parallel with this month’s full moon astrology, which you can read all about in the next section of the article.

Full moon is a time of fruition of that which we set our intentions by at new Moon. As Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac wheel, before the new rotation begins, the thought of how we ought to end our zodiac year may be prevalent. We can do so with visualisation of what we now want to see occurring for us over the next season & the most part of 2026.  Full Moon is a very emotionally heightening occasion. Therefore, it is good to know where & why we may be feeling particular emotional climax in certain areas of our lives. In addition, Full Moon is a time of taking stock of all the achievements we have made over the past month. It matters not how big or small we see these accomplishments, rather it is in the celebration of them we can see them for what they are, positive steps toward the change we need in our lives. So, we celebrate ourselves & all the dedication we have placed into our intentions for a brighter future.

The Sun shines its light through watery, intuitive & dreamy Pisces. The Sun represents our ego, the present, how we value & perceive ourselves, consciousness, self-expression, what we present to the world. With Pisces Sun we are offered vision, spirituality, the infinite & disorder. Pisces governs how we apply ourselves to our spiritual health. As gentle, creative, sympathetic & romantic as Pisces Sun can be there are always the negatives to be on the lookout for. Pisces can become moody & at times play the victim, be vindictive & pessimistic too.

The Moon represents our past, intuition, emotions, unconscious, feelings & upbringing. It is where we feel the most. In Earthy, responsible Virgo, we can see the need & indeed the want to get organised. Virgo governs the application of our daily routines, physical health & need for organisation. Think Spring clean in every area, no stone left unturned sort of organisation! In addition, Virgo governs work & there is a real feeling to complete the old projects & tasks we may have been avoiding, in order to forge forward with what we are now putting on our plates for this year, tying nicely into the Piscean Sun which is the finale of the Zodiac. Furthermore, Virgo Moon wants us to find our passion & work on something we love. In this arena, we can love to do something even more, however if we do not like what we are working on, the dislike can amplify. Implementation of a daily task which is amiable will enhance a healthy outlet & foster a new passion for us in the months to come. Find time to do what you love doing & set aside time to do it every day. On the flip side of Virgo, we are presented with a certain amount of stress. This can indicate a situation, person, event or can infer emotions which we have been holding in. Be aware! These emotions can explode onto the scene & create more stress. Try to keep to what Virgo Moon is asking of us by concentrating on allowing ourselves an external & internal Spring-clean, finding the balance we need to maintain a healthy outlook & body-mind balance. Anything that does not fit with our newness can be released or altered according to that which we are creating for ourselves. This does indicate a move toward cutting our ties to the past so that we can move on to the future we desire. We can do this as part of our Full Moon ritual release to make way for what is coming into our lives.

Full Moon wants us to find the balance between both the energies of Sun in Pisces & Moon in Virgo! In this case the polarity between work v service, judgement v acceptance, rationality v irrationality. Being sure that we do not over compensate either, gives us the opportunity for balance between the two. Whatever is illuminated will be in need of our attention & represents a chance to rectify areas of our lives which may be out of kilter with who we are or who we are becoming. This is a wake- up call for our health & well-being, in addition to our habits & routines, the former going hand in hand with the latter. At this time, we may feel waves of intuition hitting us or perhaps a critical awareness surrounding ‘lack of’. Listen to what comes to you & act accordingly on them. Be real. This is the moment of awakening to ourselves & how we can intuit our emotional needs surrounding this event. We can look at how we react to these moments & how we can change the way we think/ feel about them. This Full Moon balance is all about our healing & rethinking some of our unhealthier habits. Try to avoid perfectionism, a Virgo trait, remembering that we can multi-task & get several things to an agreeable point, rather than concentrating on one thing to perfect. Perfecting one area can have an adverse effect on the other changes we need to implement at the same time. A hand in hand approach is much more agreeable to finding balance at this time.

In all of this becoming, we also need not to take on too much. Our energy levels are important factors in getting to where we want to be. However, we often ignore the signs of overwhelm, until it’s too late & we reach burnout before we know it. Listen to your body & take time out for self care. You are important to this life mission & need to be at top speed for some of it. For now, go hand over hand tying loose ends & completing all the little things in small bite-size chunks, rather than racing to the finish line exhausted & unready for the next chapter. It’s all In the preparation & planning, big organisation is a Virgo trait.

Virgo wants us to be sovereign in our own lives. She is the symbol of independence & self-reliance. She is Goddess! We all have some of that impetus inside of us, all it takes is to remember!

Looks like big changes are needed to kick-start the future of our dreams & intentions. Good Luck with the processes.

As if we didn’t have enough to attend to, we also have the amplification energies of this cosmic event ramping up the emotions, intuition & energetics of our relationships & polarities in life! The biggest issue here is to remember that during an eclipse, something is hidden for a short while & something else is illuminated for attention. This part is amplified & possibly blown out of proportion deliberately for your attention. However, one cannot make a decision or judgement based on assumption of one or the other without having the whole epic surround sound, panoramic picture. Whatever highlights itself to you, be aware that it needs your attention, but also that there is probably something universally hidden so you put your effort into where it is initially required. That said, try not to react or make tough decisions until the eclipse is over & the reality of the hidden is revealed. A total Lunar eclipse along the Virgo-Pisces axis will indicate a need for balance between the two, Virgo’s order & scheduling & Pisces spirituality, vision & disorder. Focus may be on the balance between work & service; the feasible & theoretical; critique & acceptance; order & disorganisation. Virgo Moon wants order, but this new scheduling we can give ourselves has to work for us, not against us. It is a good time for moving obstructive old patterns out of the way. This event is calling for us to be fully aware & alert to circumstances within work, health, routine & habits. Our feelings will be ramped up & our intuitive nudges may become more of a kick. Anything that is revealed to us or any epiphanies we receive are of great importance right now, but need time to gestate so that they make logical sense. In addition, we will find areas we put our effort into, highlighted. Ask the question ‘where have I been placing more of my energy than is required?’ & ‘Is this where I am feeling the need to pull away & rest for a while?’. If this is the case, take some time for self-care. If anything, Eclipse is a time for us to look out for ourselves too. Be aware that relationships can be challenging at this time, that a ‘lack of’ mindset may creep in. We can help ourselves by understanding the root cause of this feeling & move forward in a more compassionate manner.

Planetary influences

Let’s add the final ingredients to the cauldron, Planetary aspects playing out.

There is a lot of opposing planets aligned in Pisces alongside the Sun.

North Node in Pisces, loose conjunction to Sun - Both Lunar nodes are in Retrograde, so we may find the tendency to look back over things to enable us to resolve unfinished issues. The North Node is our soul destiny & needs us to shed our former habits & old selves for us to move toward that end. These issues may be highlighted during eclipse phase.

Mercury in Pisces opposite moon in Virgo – Possible misunderstandings in communication. Emotions are high can fly off in the wrong direction. Be aware of tempers & words said in heated conversation. On the other hand, we may find it difficult to put emotions into words. This may cause challenges to our relationships. Be mindful of eclipse & all it brings to this aspect.

Mars in Pisces – can bring a sense of flow to our energy

Jupiter in Cancer Sextile Moon in Virgo – A supportive Jupiter can offer us a different perspective & help us to introduce the small changes we need to create steps toward improvements we would like to see in our lives. Jupiter offers us growth & expansion.

Later in March…

6th - Venus enters Aries heralding a much more candid, straightforward approach to love & our creative selves.

So, that is our cosmic cauldron for Full Virgo Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse. What a lot of information to digest! Not everything may apply to your personal experience.  I would suggest to revisit the parts of this article which resonated with you, to gain clarity & understanding.
