Astro: New Micro Moon in Taurus

All hail & welcome to May's Astro: New Moon article. Join me on a journey through the cosmos. This New Moon is in the sign of Taurus The Bull. It is also known as a micromoon. There are some real sensual energies to tap into this moon phase, and some very harmonious planetary aspects. Are you ready?
What is a Micro moon?
Micro Moon is an astronomical term. The Moon’s path around the Earth is elliptical, which means one side of its path is closer to Earth than the other. The closest manoeuvre to Earth is called perigee (237,000 miles). The farthest is Apogee (382,000 miles). When the moon moves into Full or New phase around the time of apogee, it is known as a micromoon. We are in process of three full supermoons, therefore we will also experience a new micromoon. This does not mean that the moon has a lesser influence on us here on Earth. Without the Moon we would have no tidal frequency, no ebbing & flowing in general. Moreover, we are at a time of high Spring tides, a time of huge movement by natural forces. The tides are influenced by the Sun & Moon’s gravitational pull . The moon's elliptic orbit means that twice a month, the moon, sun and Earth are directly aligned, creating the combined gravitational force which in turn creates High/ Spring tides & low/ Neap tides.
New moon conjunct Sun in Taurus. The Moon & Sun are in the same sign, complimenting each other. New Moon is the time for new beginnings. It gives us a burst of energy and resourcefulness in addition to emotional balance, quite the opposite of full moon aspect. New Moon is an excellent time for fresh starts, beginning a new project, reassessing old habits & making the necessary changes. This New Moon phase is in Taurus, the sign of the Bull.
Taurus is earthy, grounded, stable, dependable & strong. Its ruler is Venus who governs harmony, love & finances, so these areas will be highlighted with this moon phase. There is something quite exceptional about Taurus’ influence, something gentle , patient, generous & sensual. As the 2nd sign of the Zodiac, it is fixed & able to keep up momentum. Taurus offers laid back energy, rather than panic mode. This is a moon of self love as much as any other love. A moon when you can treat yourself & not be guilty of selfishness, be careful of overindulgence one of Taurus’ not so good traits. Taurus New Moon is asking us to pay attention to ourselves, to retreat & allow energy restoration within. We will use these energies as a power up for what is to come. We are being encouraged to allow these energies to flow to where they are needed most. Its time to get out of the head & into the heartspace. Find our centre & ground, walk barefoot on the ground, sand, grass, allowing ourselves to feel into & welcome the current of creativity & intuitive energies to flow through us unconditionally. New Moon Taurus is a good time to reflect on our personal goals, to enjoy the simple pleasures life offers us such as, good food, getting out into nature & finding what works harmoniously for us. There is a charge of potent Taurean energy which will offer us the chance to make important changes in our lives, make solid plans for sowing seeds of abundance & reassess our relationships to money & the material, ultimately helping us to uncover what it is that makes us really happy & content.
Planetary influences this moon phase are subtle but energetic. There are no hard squares to deal with, but before we all do a happy dance, lets discuss what is on the menu.
New Moon Sextile Neptune in Pisces. Sextile is an harmonious aspect in which relationships & communications are favoured. They are also a good aspect in which the energies concerned can be beneficial to the hobbies & skills of an individual. Neptune is in its own sign, so expect heightened sensitivity, imagination, creativity & intuition as the flow of this watery duo increases your psychic abilities, allowing for a great deal of perception of the self & those around us & possible prophetic or vivid dreams. This is a good time to come into service to others in any which way we can. This can be charity, caring, joining human rights or environmental groups. Empathy will increase & relationships, friendships & our connection to universal energies will gain advantage at this time.
Mars Sextile Uranus indicates the most auspicious time to make life changing decisions which will get speedy results. This aspect offers motivation, inspiration & extra initiative. This is a good time to complete unfinished projects. Furthermore, this duo are offering up some steamy sensuality & sexual confidence, so good for making the first move! Time to go for it!
Mercury Trine Saturn. A Trine is a favourable aspect, 120°. The planetary combination in Trines represent support & acceptance of each other. This is a good combination to help complete tasks in the correct manner. It is an excellent time for study, consultations, big decisions & business. In addition, this trine is offering us an opportunity to forge new & lasting relationships & friendships.
Above all, trust in our intuition as this moon phase is allowing us to see through illusion & giving us an opportunity to create the life we have been visualising. Dreams can come true, this is pure manifestation territory!
Venus & Black Moon lilith are both active at this time & we will be feeling this extra sensual & raw energetic power thrumming through us. This intense energy serves as a catalyst to our desires & voices. We can be brave & stand up in unity. Have the confidence to have our voices heard & stand in our power! This is the time of change & transformation & emergence like the butterfly from the cocoon. Your true self has been waiting for this moment, step up & be present.
So, in all I believe this will be an advantageous two weeks. We will reap the seeds we’ve sown & we will understand how abundant we really are.
