Astro: New Moon in Cancer

All Hail & welcome to July’s edition of Astro: New Moon article. We have a New Moon in Cancer, the sign represented by the watery crab who carries its home around with it. We also have Venus aspecting Planets & as such plays an important role in the meandering of emotion we may be feeling. The Moon rules Cancer so is very comfortable in this sign. Although, a heavily aspected Venus can mean love & money are highlighted in addition to Cancer’s home, comforts & nurturing. My apologies for how late, short & sweet this article is. New Moon is a time for new energies & intentions. It brings with it a surge of fresh ideas & new energetic modes for us to experience. With the Sun & Moon in conjunction, in the same sign, we can easily find balance & feel that we are ready to end old habits & ways & prepare for the new fresher ideas to flow & stimulate our senses in different ways.
Cancer is the sign of the crab. The crab carries its home on its back & home surroundings are very important to Cancer. It represents the home, home security & personal comfort in addition to nurturing & offering space & service to others within that realm. Cancer is a water sign & encourages us to surrender to the gentleness of its ebb & flow. The most common traits of Cancer are practicality, helpfulness, patience, compassion, nurture, romantic, sensitivity, creative, home family, femininity & flow. The qualities to watch out for such, as the not so good reflection of Cancerian energy are gossip, isolation, uncommunicative, over sensitivity, moodiness, cliquey, passive aggression. If you experience any of these symptoms of imbalance skip the vibe by retreating & going straight to self care, be kind to yourself & know that you are not alone. The moon rules cancer so is very comfortable here with Cancerian energies, particularly those along the more healing route. Emotional healing is on offer if we can release & let go of whatever we feel is binding us to the mundane. In this way we can experience the real magick of emotional healing.
We also have Venus in full play with this New Moon. Whether we regard this as unwanted interference or a welcome change to the more heavier waves of release we have been experiencing through eclipse season, this New Moon will highlight issues surrounding love & finances.
Venus conjunct Mars. Expect Fireworks!!!! These two are a match made in the cosmos & with them both in the sign of regal Leo, there will be some very heated moments for us to experience. We will be rid of sexually inhibited actions & we may become more direct about what it is we want. We will demand attention & recognition of our thoughts & feelings being taken seriously in relationships. We will want affection & personal investment. We may experience waves of super self confidence & high sex drive. We may set our goals very high too!
Venus opposite Saturn. Again with the delays & restrictions that we have been experiencing! This aspect may bring low moods & may cover the areas of love & money. The message is to work hard & your efforts will be rewarded.
Venus Square (hard aspect) Uranus. Unexpected urges could be cause for testing moments within relationships. A wish to be free may cause moments of frustration. Remain open minded to avoid any of the aforementioned affecting you too deeply.
This New Moon in Cancer is asking us to view with Venusian eyes that which is laid on the path before us. If we can move with the ebb & flow of Cancerian energies & look through the Venusian lens, we may be able to avoid any mishaps or misconceptions & move forward from the heavy eclipse season, with our plans for the future. Our awareness will be heightened, intuition will be in full flow. Allow this process & any new discoveries which come your way & take advantage of any unexpected opportunities as these could lead to your desires. Remember anything awkward that makes us feel uncomfortable usually carries a lesson to be learned. Learn to compromise or look at something from another angle, to remain open minded & open hearted.
