All Hail & welcome to July’s edition of Astro: New Moon article. We have a New Moon in Cancer, the cardinal sign represented by a watery crab who carries its home on its back. We are looking at a New Moon which highlights Cancer traits such as home, nurturing, mothering given & received, empathy, kindness, sympathy, patience, creativity & emotional security. The New Moon is at home in Cancer & enhances all of these along with emotion, our past & intuition. We do have some real big players making their energies known within this sphere; a shift from the North Lunar node along a new 18 month axis squared by transformative Pluto, illusionary Neptune Trine both Luminaries & Mercury is also in Cancer square Jupiter, in addition to Venus making herself known to us through inconjunctions with both Pluto & Neptune. All of this will bring about major shifts in our consciousness & how we lead our lives by helping us to enquire, challenge & redirect how we manifest ourselves in life. There is a lot to get through so lets dive in……
New Moon signifies the end of the old cycle & the beginning of a new cycle of phasing. New Moon is a time for new energies & intentions. It brings with it a surge of fresh ideas & new energetic modes for us to experience. With the Sun & Moon in conjunction, in the same sign Cancer, we can easily find balance & feel that we are ready to end old habits & ways to prepare for the new fresher ideas to flow & stimulate our senses in different ways. As New Moon’s go, we can intend to draw energies closer to us, this one is potent & extremely energetic so its a great time to write down intentions & think about the energies we really want in our lives.

Cancer is a cardinal sign of the watery crab. The crab carries its home on its back & home surroundings are very important to Cancer. It represents the home, home security & personal comfort in addition to nurturing & offering space & service to others within that realm. This water sign encourages us to surrender to the gentleness of its ebb & flow. The most common traits of Cancer are practicality, helpfulness, patience, compassion, nurture, romantic, sensitivity, creative, home family, femininity & flow. The qualities to watch out for such as the not so good reflection of Cancer energy are gossip, isolation, uncommunicative, over sensitivity, moodiness, cliquey, passive aggression. If you experience any of these symptoms of imbalance skip the vibe by retreating & going straight to self care, be kind to yourself & know that you are not alone.
The moon rules cancer so is very comfortable here with Cancer energies, particularly those along the more healing & nurturing route. Emotional healing is on offer if we can release & let go of whatever we feel is binding us to the mundane. In this way we can experience the real magic of emotional healing. Cancer energies are like Mother Goddess energies which encourage us to love ourselves like only we can. In this act we can confidently make necessary changes for our wellbeing.
In addition, this is a good time to make a pledge to the positives of the Crab, such as honouring the darkness within, the innermost feelings; acknowledging the safety & security we have in our homes; accepting help where & when needed & offering help to others in service for a greater good; gaining emotional security from new sources rather than relying on outdated habits; beginning something new which in the long run will enhance the lives at home & of family.
The potent energy of this Moon can have a long lasting affect on our lives, so is a great time to make important changes which will benefit us in the long run.
As New Moon’s go, this one is all about the surrounding shifts within the cosmic churning's. The lunar Nodal axis will motion from the Taurus -Scorpio axis to the Aries - Libra axis on the same day as New Moon. This motion indicates a shift out of headspace & into heartspace. We are entering a time of intense karmic energy over the next 18 months, which can increase momentum of soul expansion if we can connect to it in this way.
The North node In Aries indicates little room for movement over our choices. We are being directed to be mindful about our decisions no matter how large or small. Everything we do has a consequence & its time to realise & work with our intuition & personal wisdom, our inner knowing. We are also being asked from which place are we coming from fear or love, hurt or knowledge from lessons learned. Right about now we must consider that love is everything, the healer, the sage, the sovereign, feeling, emotion, wisdom, autonomy & community. Know that love is the greatest healer & teacher to us all. If we can speak & act from our hearts whilst in our own inner knowing & wisdom, we will engage with the shifting lunar node & be in a place of abundance, unconditional love & serenity flow which keeps things going in the right direction. This can be a very erratic time of complexities, where we feel to move back into old paradigms. The Universe however, has other plans & is urging us to move forward armed with all the lessons we have learned & with love as our guiding influence. By putting our newest personal skills to work, we will gain emotional security rather than falling back to what we have known.
So now consider where are we coming from & if we are acting out of hurt & fear rather than a love, wisdom & lessons learned. The wisdom taken from a mistake or event adds to our inner knowing, encouraging us to manifest a new way of being. It is time to harness lessons & use the knowledge gained to manoeuvre through what comes next. By using our wisdom in areas which are highlighted, we can be in our heartspace & act in a more conducive & rewarding manner, for the overall well-being of ourselves, surroundings & community.

There is a lot going on here. My advice is to skim read this section & then go back to what stood out & resonated with you. These planetary motions can affect us on a personal & global level.
New Moon opposite Pluto - Transforming the way we feel through experience; be watchful of external workings, obstruction & opposition. Use it to launch into a new beginning. Be mindful of paranoia & fear driven bias.
Neptune Trine (sychronic) both Luminaries - A spiritual connection to the new creativity we are manifesting. Lots of support through intuitive hits to begin something new.
Uranus sextile (harmonious) both luminaries - come away from old ways of doing it & use your new found skills to do it all anew. Find a new way to be, act & manifest ourselves; new innovations, unity in community; a sense of emotional security can come from group interactions.
Pluto Square (hard aspect) North Node in Aries - transforming areas of neglect; big changes in areas of choices; Are you playing victim or do you own your shit? Focus on inner power dynamic & a sense of how strongly centred we are; owning our sovereignty!
Get out of ego & into heartspace. Stop people pleasing & act from the heart. We are small components of a greater manifestation. One in which we all learn, share & commune. Be the change.
