All Hail & welcome to Astro: New Moon in Gemini. Well, it’s been an extremely transformative eclipse season & this new Moon closes that eclipse portal. So, if you are feeling a little bedraggled from all the surplus energies & movement toward change, this New Moon in Gemini may help us to slow down & absorb all that has occurred. Slow down is really very good advice for this Moon phase & tapping into energies which will aid in slowly absorbing the relentless eclipse energies will benefit us in completion & moving forward, even if it remains unclear which direction we will in travel next. There are no planetary aspects to this New Moon, however, there are planets aspecting each other & Planets positioning in zodiac signs which could influence us deeply. Our celestial luminary is in the sign of Gemini which is represented by the twins, one mortal & the other immortal, symbolising both sides of ourselves, the body & soul. Given the erratic nature of the energies we have been in receipt of recently, it bodes well to keep this in mind & to work toward an equilibrium between them. Let’s begin our journey through New Moon in Gemini….
New Moon is a time for preparing ourselves for planting seeds which we wish to manifest into our realities. It is a time of fresh ideas, innovation & physical movement toward that end. However, we must consider our why’s & where fore’s before we act out a new idea. The 1st New Moon after eclipse season is always full of new energies & perspectives, from that which has presented itself to us over the eclipse season. Patience is virtuous at this moment in time & the verve we have from our experiences must be given time for us to feel into. We need time to immerse ourselves into what has presented itself to us, before we run forward. In addition, the eclipse season may have left us with a fuzzy head. This could be more to do with Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, which remains in retrograde until 3 June. Mercury rx also square’s up to Saturn, so negative thoughts may be intervening in forward motion. June is the home of midsummer, so right now we are in the brightest time of year, fully illuminated in our external world, surrounded by the abundance of Gaia herself.
This New Moon is in the sign of Gemini. Gemini is a flexible Air sign, governed by Mercury of communications, change, liberation & rebellion! Gemini is an engaging sign with a curious nature. This can be a moment of entertainment & creativity, generosity & charm. We may find our motivation right about now & given that eclipse tends to wipe out our energies, it is a good idea to use this force for our wellbeing at the moment. We may want to fully express ourselves but may find we lack force to do so. Right now self care is important & that is ok. In fact, rest, reorient & reorganisation will really help us in preparing for that boost from inertia that we crave so much. We need to tap into our new found revelations & transformations & feel fully comfortable with them before surging on. Allowing ourselves time to take our time is very important to developing a routine, which will fully benefit us on all levels & secure better developed decisions. Keeping the mind clutter free is a task in itself, with added brain fog, it may feel an almost impossible task. Focus on keeping the mind in check by recognising self sabotage, negative & repetitive thoughts & actions by practising being in the present moment. Gemini will present us with a gentle nudge & much more airy energy which is on offer to us to tap into. Remember both sides of us are begging to become more balanced & as such able to work together harmoniously. The Gemini avatar of the twins (immortal & mortal) represent the duality of our existence. As humans we have taught ourselves to see things as good & acceptable or bad & unacceptable, for us & our experience. As spiritual beings we understand that our experiences form a visionary part of the bigger picture & our purpose. We must keep this in mind as we traverse this next few weeks. Gemini is asking that we slow down & recognise our own impatience, so that we can fully process our new processes. Go into nature, walk barefoot, enjoy the outside, feel gratitude for that which we have in our lives right now & that which is moving us forward. Furthermore, Gemini is the sign of the mind, communication & mental agility, so expect more of these traits as the weeks unfold.
Planetary aspects & influences on New Moon in Gemini
Mercury almost square (hard aspect) Saturn can have us in a mental tizzy! We may experience confused thoughts, miscommunication & travel problems. In addition, this square could leave us feeling lonely & pessimistic. It doesn’t have to be that way!! As I have mentioned, this aspect is not quite a square, so I believe we can make what we want from it by recognising any of the above downsides playing out in our lives. By bringing awareness to these feelings, we can overcome the main crux of negative energies which surround this configuration.
Mars in Aries. Mars is right at home in Aries & will be until July. So, if we have suffered from inaction, procrastination & stagnation of sorts, we may begin to feel good, healthy energy rising, which will give us a needed mental & physical boost. This boost will be our spark of creative energy which will get us out of that funk we seem to have been lingering in. Be warned, this motion only lasts for 6 weeks, in which time Mercury will go direct. Better to wait a couple of days into Mercury direct to utilise this new found Mars/Aries burst. Mars conjunct Jupiter. Ooh this one is exciting! Abundance of energy, initiative, courageousness, strength & sex drive! Under this conjunction, we can envisage & move toward new ideas & projects with a forward view to success.
The downsides to this conjunction, which could lead to all kinds of strife are over-confidence which could lead to pride & a fall; over-activity which could burn us out. So be aware of how feelings & emotions play out.
