ASTRO NEW MOON ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE IN LIBRA

All Hail & welcome to Astro: New Moon in Libra. We have a wonderfully sweet energy around us at this moment in time, after Mabon’s harvest as we enter into the darker months & the deeper recesses of ourselves. To each of us personally this can be an easy or tough time as we dig deep into our shadow and work with our hidden energies, emotions and fears. As we call on our benevolent ancestors & guides right now we find we are surrounded by love & the incessant energy to push through the mists of time and false veils of lies & deceit in our lives. This New Moon is the halfway mark of the astrological year & is the shift in our energies. It can be a stressful time, upsetting or out of sorts energies. Know that the universe provides all we need when we need it. Focus is on finding balance & being open to gently extend harmonies which allow us to vibrate along the same lines as our truest self. In addition, we have an annular Solar Eclipse occurring which is an event coinciding with the Moon's apogee/ farthest approach to Earth which gives this eclipse a ring of fire surrounding the luminary, rather than full eclipse.
The New Moon is a time of balance, when we have reached the end of one 28 day cycle and begin another cycle of moon phasing. The new moon in astronomical terms is when there is no moon & the skies are dark. In astrological terms, this moon is the dark, balsamic moon, where we rest or release & banish the final purge of unwanted, dysfunctional, outdated & unproductive from our lives in order to make space for the new, seeds of hopes & desires. The exciting intentions we have in store for ourselves are planted at new moon when the sliver of silver is in the sky and the light of the moon is returning from the darkness. In order to make space for the new we must first cleanse & release old, outdated functionalities. This can sometimes come in the form of emotional traumas, relationships, careers, ways of thinking & being, need to be detached from us to enable the space we need for something good, new & exciting. Its a bit like an upgrade, out with the old & in with the new! New Moon is a time of transitioning from the wisdom of the crone to the maiden’s winter-spring.
An annular solar eclipse takes place as the sun & moon conjunct in Libra. Solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Earth & the Sun, thus on the Lunar ecliptic. This means at the same time as new Moon, the luminaries are in aligned with one of the lunar nodes & can give us a right royal kick up the bum! A solar eclipse occurs when the South node is in the same sign as the luminaries. The south node is all about areas of greatest insecurity. As all 3 are conjunct in Libra, this highlights our relationship & love insecurities. There could be a conjunction of new ideas in business, a relationship may need attention or perhaps healing, a new perspective on how to manage relationship problems may arise, new coalitions, unions, agreements to keep the peace. Libra encourages us to find peace & balance, to apply this to all areas of our lives, in particular the areas which have been highlighted during eclipse & new Moon. One thing to watch for is the darker side of eclipse & how energies can fly off on their own tangent. Find balance & acknowledge where things feel out of kilter . That way we can prevent any damage. Solar eclipse energies will last up to a few months, so be mindful whilst finding independence, assertiveness & mindful negotiations.
The Sun & Moon are conjunct (in the same sign) in Libra. The Sun represents the now, our identification, that bit of ourselves which we show the world, our consciousness, self esteem, ego & expression.
The Moon is our emotions, intuition, unconscious, inner personality, feelings & nurturing.
Libra is the sign of the scales of justice, with balance a key factor. Ruled by Venus, beauty, love & money. This cardinal Air sign gets actions moving, concerning relationships, business contracts & marriage. This is a good time to commit to personal goals & find the negotiator within to bring our relationships into balance. We are being encouraged to recalibrate our relationships in such a way that our partners are once again our allies, we’ll be given chances to make those all important life changes as a team. Libra shows us to make peace & create equilibrious environments in which we can value that which we have in our lives & loves.
Themes to consider for this phase & the next 2 weeks, until Full moon, are our relationship with; our sovereign self ; nature, community; others regarding relationships; business & current events; self beliefs. There may be some internal conflict arise, but harnessed correctly can open doors for our growth. The key is balance.
Our feelings will be very intense to feel the pull to go inward, as we mimic the mother Earth at this time of year, if we can partially or wholly, deeper to soul depth. Pain will arise, tiredness may affect us which will add to any uncertainty or confusion already present. This moon will highlight areas which are out of balance. It will reveal where and to whom we have been giving ourselves, possibly to our detriment, and will bring us back in line with ourselves. The Libran New Moon is very special in that it will bring us back to a place of self & show us a new way of being which is more beneficial. This is a time to step away from the blame game and aside from feelings of guilt, shame, inadequacy & focus on giving back to yourself. A vessel half full cannot overflow to another. Only one which is full to the brim can give unconditionally of itself.
Relationship issues are a big theme this new moon. Things may come to a point which will need patience, understanding & reflection in answer to what occurs.
With Libra ruled by Venus, this highlights the physical, sexual & loving relationships we are part of & how we can traverse heated waters by being present. Libra wants balance & this also indicates the flow of reciprocity in our lives & relationships. This New Moon in Libra wants for us to find balance within our relationships, in how we give & receive, how we collaborate & what we have learned thus far. We are being asked to re-evaluate relationships. Libra season & Equinox/ Mabon is a rewarding time to work in the area of relationships. Relationships often form our greatest life teachings in which we learn, comprehend & grow.
Ask:
Do we act differently around certain people?
Do we like who we are when we are in their company?
Which relationships bring out our best & which the worst in us?
Which relationships keep us moving into the direction of growth & which trigger us into old patterns of thinking & acting?
Which relationships remind us of fun?
Which relationships are hard work & often one sided?
As this is new Moon, we could be setting our intentions to embrace new relationships, create equilibrium in our present relationships. It is a good time to hear someone out, by listening & not judging to those who may have experiences which have differed from our own. We can set personal & relationship boundaries. We can also give ourselves permission to be confident in our collaborative endeavours. In addition, we are being asked to show patience & use the knowledge that we are made of precious energetic resources & we must think about where we are placing that energy & what it does to us. Know that we always have a choice in that which we choose to shine & dazzle. Its time to simplify the way in which we think!

Know your worth! Know that your energy is a precious commodity to which not everyone is entitled to. Remember if you are feeling out of sorts, self care is your friend.
Planetary influences
During New Moon phase & beyond there are planetary influences which could have an effect on us & those around us. This month is a real humdinger for aspecting planets. Not all of these aspects will have an effect on all of us. It really depends on each persons individual natal chart. A natal chart is a personalised way of finding out what was in the sky & in effect during the date & time an individual was born. That said, it would be extremely difficult to be precise for everyone of my readers. So, the articles I write are a generalisation & can refer to many or a few. New Moon conjunct Mercury in Libra - expect amplified mental capacity & clarity, new concepts, lots of hopeful, polite, respectful communication.
Luminaries & Mercury square Pluto in Capricorn - Pluto square will bring us into the sphere of personal challenges. Areas highlighted will be the ones we perhaps find difficulty with. We could find a struggle with plans we’ve made due to uncompromising elements. If we attempt to stay on the Libran traits trail of diplomacy & tact, not allowing the more primal energies of our feelings to impede us, we may be able to revolutionise areas of neglect or rebuild relationships.
Libra luminaries Opposite Chiron in Aries - Chiron is the wounded healer & in this position may make us feel more vulnerable & reactive. Being aware of Chiron’s nature within us can lead us to more thoughtful interactions. Chiron wants us to heal, but darker side of Pluto vibes could drag us back from where we really want to be getting on with digging deep. Health is also highlighted with Chiron.
Mars - Saturn Trine -gives us a sense of grounding & the knowledge to set out manageable steps toward an end goal.
Libra Luminaries Square Neptune in Capricorn - Neptune in Capricorn can be organised & rational or bureaucratic & shrewd. Square indicates some frustration & hard work to get to where you want to be. Be mindful of how to present ourselves & how this influence may act out in ourselves or those around us.

Eyes to the skies for the Orionids 21-22 October -
Orionids Meteor Shower.
Orionids produces up to 20 meteors per hour , produced by dust grains left behind by comet Halley, known & observed since ancient times. Shower runs annually from October 2 to November 7, peaking this year October 21 - 22. First quarter moon may block dim meteors in the evening. Moon set shortly after midnight, leaving dark skies for what could be a good show. Best viewing from a dark location after midnight. Meteors radiate from the constellation Orion, appearing anywhere in the sky.
