Astro: New Moon Solar eclipse in Gemini June 10 @11.52 UTC
All hail & welcome to this months Astro New Moon article. I hope you have been able to navigate the cosmic energies, over the last weeks since Full Moon Lunar eclipse on 26th May, to enable a smooth journey. We have been in a state of flux for a while & everything seems to be leading up to the great release & new beginnings. Of course these can happen at any time and do not have to occur simultaneously with a lunation. That said we are in the last throws of an eclipse portal which opened on 26th May & represents & encourages us to walk from the old & into the new, regarding our consciousness & what we believe. I always find Eclipse season a little jarring & tiring, quite revealing & unveiling of hidden wounds & past hurts which we thought we had conquered, but that lessons remain to be learned from. And that is exactly what we have been encouraged to deal with over this eclipse period. As we enter the final eclipse of this sequence, we will find things slowing down as many planets go into retrograde motion. I find its always nice to know what’s on the ship’s menu board over the coming weeks so as to prepare for any upsets which may occur. In addition, we are fast approaching Litha/ Summer solstice here in the northern hemisphere, so we are about to hail the coming of the darker time of year, whilst in the southern hemisphere re-emerging from the darkness & resurgence into the lighter, brighter part of the year. There is a lot happening in the cosmos at the present time… So lets get on with our journey of discovering our microcosmic selves within macrocosm of our vast universe.
New Moon Gemini
New Moon is a time to set intentions & sow seeds for fruition later in the month / year. It is a time of fresh ideas & energy. June is the home of midsummer, so right now we are in the brightest time of year, fully illuminated in our external world, surrounded by the abundance of Gaia herself. This new moon is in the sign of Gemini. Gemini is the sign of the mind, communication & mental agility, so expect more of these traits as the weeks unfold. The Gemini avatar of the twins (immortal & mortal) represent the duality of our existence. As humans we have taught ourselves to see things as good & acceptable or bad & unacceptable, for us & our experience. As spiritual beings we understand that our experiences form a visionary part of the bigger picture & our purpose. We must keep this in mind as we traverse this next few weeks. There will be challenges & problems as well as past hurts & reckonings to deal with, and this is all part of the bigger picture & understanding of our personal & spiritual growth. We already know that change is the catalyst to growth. Allowing change is a necessary part of our journey in order to grow. We must accept that this eclipse season has been ringing in the changes by making us deal with things we may not have wanted to. Thus making space for what is meant to be. We are rewriting our stories by allowing much needed change into our sphere of existence, so that we may fully stand in our power & acknowledge our spiritual growth. This is a service to ourselves in order to be of service to others. As we tread new paths which have been cleared for our journeying, we must also trust our instincts & intuition. We may feel that we are being given too much chaos & confusion to deal with and if that is the case, slow down. The process will still occur albeit at a slower pace. Come out of the mind & into your soul wisdom & inner guidance at any time for reassurance. Anything we do during this phase will be greatly amplified, so go gently on yourself.
Annular Solar Eclipse
Aha! Another ring of fire approaches! An annular solar eclipse is when the moon moves between the sun & the Earth, through the Earth’s Umbra. As the Umbra reaches the centre-point it creates a ring of light around the moon, which almost covers the sun apart from the ring of fire. A solar eclipse provides massive amplification to anything we put our effort into. Be careful what you wish for too as we approach the Solstice on 20-21st June and the veil thins, leaving our Fae friends to mischievously play on our words! Be specific about intentions, not a word or phrase which could be misconstrued in any way! Gemini solar eclipse is the final eclipse of three, the first being in May. The May eclipse opened a portal of transformation & elevation for our spiritual & personal makeovers. We have been walking a portal of new beginnings which began & was aided by blood moon. This portal will close on June 10th with the New Moon Solar Eclipse, so use this energy to its maximum potential whilst its there. Ask yourself, What has held my attention over this period? What have I enjoyed more than anything else during this time? What has made my soul sing? This New Moon wants you to be travelling in the right direction & it will place you where you are supposed to be facing for the next part of your journeying. The trick is to not resist or force a situation, moreover to allow yourself to go with the energies flowing & to trust that this motion will take you to where you are supposed to be. This Solar Eclipse in Gemini is the most potent we have experienced in a while. It will have us beginning anew in those areas of our lives which are touched by this phenomenon & it will bring up our need to question how we communicate, travel, educate, research or believe. By being in the sphere of Gemini energy, we are most likely to learn to open our minds, socialise and become part of community arms wide open! The New Moon Solar Eclipse falls on the Gemini/ Sagittarius axis which is all about making changes & upgrades. Whatever happens now can ricochet through to the end of the decade & can affect us on an international level.
Planetary influences & the Eclipse
With any Moon phase or Eclipse there are planetary manoeuvres which will affect how each of us receives the energies on offer to us. Mostly this will depend on what planets are where in our natal charts which is specific to an individual, but generally speaking we will all feel something on one level or another. There is a lot going on cosmically this phase, month & for the rest of the season, which could slow down and reduce or speed up & amplify the universal traits of each. Now, where to start!?!
Saturn Rx (retrograde) is active, so we will experience a slowing of Saturn’s energies. Saturn is the taskmaster of the Zodiac & likes us to do things properly. In this case, we are looking at arising stirrings from the past which will need our attention again. Don’t be dismayed, we may have dealt with the pain or hurt already, but there is always more to learn from. This is not about falling into reminiscence or reliving the situation. Rather, it is about asking ourselves what is to be learned & what have we learned from this. Drop into your personal wisdom & guidance. Eclipse tends to prompt our memories differently, helping us to glance back to find a connection to what we are experiencing now & what activation has occurred & where. With that said, look back to what was occurring during last November / December 2020 for some clues. What is prominent for us during this time? Remember we are being asked to upgrade, so look at what was happening & re-evaluate from this new angle. We make good things happen if we are mindful of our own thoughts & actions.
Saturn Square (hard aspect) Uranus (peaks June 14) - restriction, change, unexpected change are all on the cards here. Remain open minded, flexible & patient to challenges which arise. Remembering that from challenge sometimes comes opportunity. This too can have a positive effect, helping us to be rid of negativity & restriction in our lives.
Mercury Retrograde (Rx)- ruling all communication, travel, electronics, business & personal documentation. Retrograde give us a slowing down of the Mercurial energies we all know & love, but this in turn creates its own problems as we begin to experience difficulties in these areas. Mercury also effects us on a nervous level, with anxiety, looking back over the past, unexpected bumping into people from our past. Be mindful of speech & meaning, trying not to react too quickly or overreact. Take time to triple read all communications before sending, as with signing new contracts.
Solar Eclipse conjunct Mercury Rx (retrograde) - our focus is on the mind, thinking, communication, travel. Mercury is the zodiacs most frequent retrograder, which sounds pretty cool unless you feel the effects of this planet on a deep level. With the conjunction of Moon, Sun & Mercury Rx, we can expect a surge in community interaction, in many ways. We may have lots to do, appointments to attend, social events, new data to process with lots of decisions to make. This alignment usually amplifies rational thought & social competency, however, Mercury is not only Rx but Square (hard aspect) Neptune during this Eclipse.
Mercury Square Neptune. Neptune is full of mysteries & focuses on our dreams & intuition in an attempt to uncover truths. The Square between these two celestial beings can bring in some confusion to the thinking process, this can also bring about misinterpretations which could leave you confused or open to deceit. We must listen carefully in conversation in order to not to misconstrue the true meaning. We are being asked to be mindful of our words & to talk in a clear manner. Furthermore, protect against energy & psychic vampires at this time. (Neptune will turn retrograde on 25th June 2021 so we can expect this confusion to lift or slow).
Solar eclipse Square Neptune - may have us feeling drained, Eclipse season does this to me every year. We may find motivation just got up & left the building too. We may find difficulty in raising interest & this may leave us feeling guilty & sorrowful. This is not a time for rose tinted glasses as we have now got to be extremely aware of our own gullibility & over idealisation. If we keep to honesty in all of our dealings, we rise above this energy & avoid upset or disgrace. Our minds are in the spotlight & how we react psychologically is being highlighted here. Try to remain honest & stay in a place of love rather than fear, to avoid mental health problems & health issues.
